The problem is the quality. The coat is quite thin, and definitely not the pea coat you would need in cold weather (might be OK for California, but not for New England!).

The buttons were made from very cheap plastics and the edges of the buttons are not well polished, so you can still feel the sharp edges.... not the coat that I would pay $100 for. There are tons of deals for nice coats at Macys.com or Landsend.com...

Just a heads up, the Amazon sizing guide is one number off. Nautica list the max chest measurement at 43, while Amazon list 44. Bought the large and it was a little tight so had to return it.

I have wide shoulders and a broad chest, so i ordered the xxl. The size chart said a xx would fit a 50 inch chest. I was measured at just over 46 for a tux fitting this spring. I could barely get my arms in it. The sleeve cuffs were well above my wrists. And forget about buttoning it. The quality of the product seems to be very good. But you need to figure at least a size larger if you want this to be a practical winter coat.
edit: i forgot to note that when i tried on the coat, the only shirt i was wearing was a plain white undershirt tee. if you figure in at least a 2nd layer, the fit would have been even tighter.
